Windows 10 Restore error "not enough space"

Inspiron 15 7000 2-in-1 with Windows 10 here.

I was surprised to find on my new Dell that Windows Restore is apparently now very complicated involving USB drives and/or errors of "not enough space" when in fact, there is lots of space on a new laptop.

On my old Dell also running Windows 10, I simply selected the date I wanted to go back to and pressed a button. So easy!  Now I only can go back to an "event" or I must set up a back-up on a USB drive??

Well, I found another solution to my immediate problem but for future emergencies, I would like to know if it really is impossible now to have restore points automatically created by date on my laptop.
