celerra to isilon migrations
migrating alot of data from celerra to isilon. Is there a proven method for transferring nas to nas? As opposed to using a machine to copy all the data? I heard of a isi_vol_copy tool. Would that work in this scenario? Could you point me towards some documentation?

Please consider moving this question as-is (no need to recreate) to the proper forum for maximum visibility. Questions written to the users' own "Discussions" space don't get the same amount of attention and can go unanswered for a long time.
You can do so by selecting "Move" under ACTIONS along the upper-right. Then search for and select: "Isilon Support Forum".
Firstly, to answer your first question, yes there is an isi_vol_copy (proper) that via NDMP was designed only to migrate from a Netapp filer.
Introduced in OneFS v7 is now a separate tool derived from this called isi_vol_copy_vnx. Despite the name, it also can be used to migrate from a Celerra.
You may want to review the following well-written document that discusses (assumes SMB data) emcopy and Robocopy which are the primary tools used to copy SMB data and ACL's only. It doesn't have any specific reference to isi_vol_copy_vnx though.
SMB FILE MIGRATION TO EMC ISILON: Guidance for optimal data migration of SMB workflows

For anyone performing a migration of SMB data to an Isilon, this document is an *absolute must read*.
Again, please relocate this post as instructed above so that we can get the collective input from the community of dedicated customers, partners, and EMC employees that are eager to assist.
