Isilon Gen6 Prerequisite
Hi,
I am looking for which prerequisite a Gen6 node request to be added to a Gen5 cluster.
Do you know whether a specific node firmware is requested?

it seems that in my case 9.3.5 is fine:
Note
Only update firmware with Node Firmware Package 10.0.1 if your cluster contains
Generation 6 hardware or Gen 5 with 40G Ethernet cards. If your cluster does not
contain Generation 6 hardware or Gen 5 with 40G Ethernet cards, update your
firmware with Node Firmware Package 9.3.5.

So if I need to add a Gen6 node to a Gen5 cluster already in production, this cluster must run OneFS 8.1 and fw 10.0.1?

You will need the latest node firmware package which as of this post is 10.0.1. Here are the release notes: https://support.emc.com/docu69984
