We are excited about using the S3 bucket option instead of SMB on the Isilon (PowerScale 8 nodes 25GbE) for our Veeam backups, but we have a question about the limitations. The details below were extracted from the technical guide.

 

 

 

1. For the maximum 1 million object limit – is that referring to child folders and all recursive folders under the root bucket?

 

Root bucket (no limitation?)

|___child folder 1 (1 million limit?)

|          |____sub-folder 1 (1 million limit?)

|___child folder 2 (1 million limit?)

 

 

2. For the maximum object size (aka file size), which limit applies to us? The 4TB or 16TB (specific PowerScale hardware configuration)?
