Multiple access zones on /ifs?

Until now we have system access zone being used for all the traffic on Isilon. We want to create a new access zone on base directory /ifs, the authentication provider is same for both the access zones. Is it recommended to create overlapping AZ on /ifs? We want to do this because our auditing tool is lagging behind while scanning through system AZ. Auditing team recommends to have another AZ for their scanning so that thousands of system events doesn't show up in their scanning.
