PowerScale/Isilon : SyncIQ policy with target aware.
Hi,
I have one normal SyncIQ policy which is doing replication for a directory path between 2 powerscale arrays. Now I want to do the failover/failback on sub-directory level which are under the directory where I am doing SyncIQ replication so I have decided to create new SyncIQ policies for each sub-directory with "target aware" option. My question is, to run the SyncIQ job for sub-directories, with target aware option, do I have to break or delete the SyncIQ policy for parent folder ?
Thanks

Hello rbhatewa,
You will need to break the syncIQ policy. Here is the link to PowerScale OneFS Info Hubs where you can select your onefs version, and then view Web Administration Guide. https://dell.to/3VzoO2w

Thank you. One last question, how can I verify if "target aware" policy is actually working ? I mean its not sending data to target and just syncing with data available in target location.
Thanks

Hello rbhatewa,
What is your current onefs version that you are using on your powerscale system?

Hi,
In source side, we have 9.1.0.12 and target side is 9.2.1.12.
Thanks

I am running a SyncIQ policy with "target-compare-initial-sync=on" because I do have replicated data already available in target system. Now my concern is, how to make sure that this policy is not transferring any data on network and just checking the differential data in target system ? isi_classic sync job report command showing me Transfer data amount so is this amount transferred across network between 2 powerscale systems ?
