Nodes and connections

Hi,

I have a 5 node isilon configuration and I've noticed in OneFS that all my connections (3500+) are all going through Node1. I occasionally get one through Node3.

Is this normal? I expected to see an even amount on each?

Thanks

Isn't there a way to store the mount server\\paths in AD (think automount), anyone?

sure, it's in the user's account Profile (Home directory field), you can use %username% if that's your naming convention.

Hi Peter,

Progress….if I connect to share via the SmartConnect zone name I hit a different node. Is suppose all I can do is change the scripts for the mapped drives to the SmartConnect zone name or is there something I can do?

that gets mapped outside of user's profile, probably via an active directory policy.

%username% will only return the username for the current logged on user, I will have to replace the old san name with the new SmartConnect zone name on everyone’s (3500+ users) ad account. I’ll put together a script to achieve this

The drives are mapped via a batch file which is stored on the isilon, called through group policy. The batch file is stored in the users home directory.

Pragmatic for sure, and literally "home made"
