Upgrading OneFS v6.5.5.12 to latest ?
Dear Experts,
We have 2 clusters of Isilon running on different Data Centers. One (contains 5 Nodes) is 7.0.1 & the other one (contains 7 Nodes) is v6.5.5.12. I would like to upgrade from v6.5.5.12 to latest version.
The Question is can I do this without any downtime (Online) or Is it mandatory to have downtime ? How should I proceed ? Please guide me.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Rakesh,
OneFS 7.2 is the newest Isilon version. The table below lists the simultaneous upgrade options for the supported versions of OneFS. You can download the latest version of OneFS for your cluster from the EMC Online Support website.
The following table describes which types of upgrades are supported for each version.
If you are upgrading to OneFS 7.2 from a version prior to OneFS 7.0, you must first perform an interim upgrade to OneFS 7.0, OneFS 7.1, or OneFS 7.1.1. Before performing an interim upgrade, review one of the following OneFS Upgrade Readiness checklists:

Hello Rakesh,
Upgrading form onefs 6.x.x.x to onefs 7.x.x. would require simultaneous reboot if upgrade is within same family then rolling reboot can be performed.
Refer to guide attached..

Hi Chughh,
Yes, they are in the same group. What I read & went through is Rolling upgrade. Is it not at all disruptive or we need some downtime ?
Thanx

Well, it informs everything. I mean we need to take downtime, as per this guide as a precaution. Thanks a lot.
