windows ads as a ldap server

Hello.

I have a few questions.

1. I am trying to access the SMB and NFS folders through LDAP authentication. Is it possible to use Windows AD as the LDAP server? Without joining to AD. If possible, are there any additional settings for AD server and Isilon?

2. When accessing the Isilon smb share folder from a Windows client, is it possible to log in as an LDAP user? If possible, how should I enter the username?

Thanks

Hello dodot,

1.       No you can’t.  Here is the link to the PowerScale OneFS 9.2.1.0 Web Administration Guide, & if you look at chapter 5 it explains about LDAP and how it works with your Isilon system.

2.       Also stated in the guide.
