1394 Net Adaptor

Does anyone know what 1394 net adaptor is used for? It is in stalled on my system and i have no idea what it is used for.

it's the firewire connector that's used mainly to transfer video from camcorders to you laptop.

So i dont have a video camcorder. Would it be OK to remove this? I know i wont be buying a camcorder anytime soon.

well you can't remove the firewire port so my advice is to just leave it as if you delete the network it will reappear after a reboot.
