8 beeps ,no display,intermittantly
i have dell inspiron N5010. have been using since 3 yrs.. nowadays its going blank and gives 8 beeps on booting... after switching on and off for 7-8 times it turns on--> works fine for a day or two---> again goes blank and 8 beeps.. occuring intermittantly.. tried connecting to another monitor which was of no use.. i updater display driver for my graphic card, still the prob recurred. i tied to run after disabling ati graphic card again of no use.. as told in one of the forums i held D key with power button to check BIST still of no use.. wat has to be done now?? pls help

Hi sagar TDK,
8 beeps on the Dell laptop means there is an issue with the LCD display. Sometimes it may be a problem with the slot on the motherboard where the LCD display cable gets connected which could lead to motherboard faulty.
It is very rare that both the LCD and the motherboard have gone faulty.
In addition please confirm if there was no display on the external monitor.

hi ravi.
thanks for responding... during the off phase there was no display after connecting to my led tv with hdmi cable..
now pls tell me how to fix this issue?

Hi sagar TDK,
Please let us know if the LED TV is able to display when the system is switched ON.
If there is display on the LED TV when system is ON then you will need to replace the LCD screen on the system.

hi
I have issue with my inspiron 14R. On switching power on, it beeps 8 times-stop-beep 8 times. there is no display on screen (its black totally). No booting. Only sound of fan. I have tried to connect to external monitor but found no display. Please suggest.
