Accidental Damage Protection

I bought a Dell Laptop about 18 months ago. I selected that I wanted a two-year accidental damage protection plan when I purchased the computer. Yesterday, when returning from school in the pouring rain, my laptop slipped out of my bag, slammed onto the sidewalk, and landed in a deep puddle. It was completely consumed by the water. I've been letting it dry in front of a fan, but I am assuming it isn't going to turn back on. Between the fall and the water, it doesn't look good.

Does anybody know what Dell would do for me? Is this sort of thing covered at all? Should I just it up and take out another student loan to get a new computer?

Thanks for your help!

Contact Dell. This is what you bought the Accident Insurance for.

Don't turn the laptop on if there is any moisture inside. Don't turn it on till Dell agrees to replace it if it doesn't work.

An FYI for drying electronic products can be found here http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/how_to/4269047.html

I hope your Insurance will honor your claim, and let us know how it turns out.

It sounds like you are covered, Dell's CompleteCare Accidental Damage Service covers against, spills, drops, surges, and breakage to select systems or peripherals, see this,

Bev.
