Adding a backlit keyboard to 17r (n7110)

Hi I just recently purchased a 17r 2nd gen and I love
the performance and style but I just wish it had a backlit keyboard, knowing it
was not in the customization features I was wondering if I could purchase a XPS
17 (L702X) and replace my default keyboard. I just know if the motherboard has
the same connection and if the LED’s would work. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I'm still here! :emotion-1: I get e-mail notifications.

You must have steady hands to employ the Dremel that close to the motherboard. :emotion-2:

I took the palm rest off before using the dremel.

My subtle humor was lost in translation.

The one I ordered was "Dell XPS 17 (L702X) / Vostro 3750 Laptop Keyboard with Backlight - 2WCP0 - Grade B".  This is the reconditioned one, they also have new ones for about $15 more.  The key is to look for XPS 17 (L702X).  It is the same chassis as the N7110.

I cannot find the part that you got on parts-people.com - do you have the link or the part number?

Does anyone have a link to a keyboard that they got (and worked) with backlit?
