Battery charge problem

Good evening.

The problem with the battery of my XPS 17 L702X started some months ago. My house lost power 3 or 4 times in 2 minutes while my notebook was connected to the electricity grid. Since then my notebook doesn't recharge the battery. The message is: "plugged in, not charging". I've bought a new battery, but the problem persists.

Thank you for any help.

Hi Rishi,

Thank you. My last question. So can we say that the problem is not the motherboard?

In the next days I will move to another city to work. It will cost much to me.After the first month of work I will have the money to repair my machine.

Then I will contact you to tell you how I have solved the problem. Thank you very much for your support Rishi.

Best regards,

Nicola

Hi Nicola,

I believe that the issue is with the DC port. Like I said before, in the worst case scenario, the motherboard might be at fault. We would not know unless we have opened the machine and tested. In the ideal scenario with the issue you are facing, in my personal experience, it has mainly been the dc port. In the rarest cases I have seen the motherboard being replaced. Again, as said, there is no way to tell, unless the system has been opened and tested by a technician.

I wish you the very best for your future endeavors and would love to hear from you that the issue has been resolved.

Keep us updated at your convenience.
