Battery not present issue on Inspiron 3543

I've recently started receiving 'Battery not present' message on my Inspiron 3543. The device works completely fine at times without any issue but then suddenly would start displaying this message. What strikes me is that even as it displays this message, the laptop continues to be in a working condition, except the blinking X mark on the battery bar and the blinking LED at front. Shouldn't the laptop shut down all by itself if it fails to detect a battery? While displaying this message, the laptop also fails to take any charge from the adapter but as soon as this message is gone, the charging process begins without me having to do anything. Is there a solution to this problem?

I also suggest you update the Chipset drivers as well.

"The funny thing is that I've been using the laptop in this state for over an hour now and its been working fine without any issues, except that incorrect battery meter off course"

I'd suggest you enter your service tag number(or use Detect Product) onto the link below and update Dell Quickset Application.

Desktop and Longetivity modes are already turned off.

Dell Quickset and chipset drivers seems to be updated.

Make sure Airplane mode is turn off. Type Airplane mode System Settings onto [Cortana] search bar.....

Use Troubleshooting tool on the computer. Type Troubleshooting Control panel onto searh bar, click "View All", and then Power.

A few more suggestions here.....

Check the metal tip inside of AC adapter cord end. If the metal tip is slightly bend or have dust  inside then it will show an battery error code. You have to firmly connect adapter to port and on this particular model, it goes about a little over 3/4 into the port. If metal tip is bend then you must center it.

"I tried disconnecting the battery and then holding down the power button for 30 seconds and then reinserted the battery but it just didn't help"

:emotion-2:

Instead of powering off the system and removing battery, try removing the battery with power on:

1. Power on the system, sign in,and then boot into windows.

2.Close lid, remove battery, remove adapter, and  press "Power On" button for 15 seconds then release. Replace battery and adapter. Hopefully battery is charging now.

" Yes the AC adapter is recognized. If recognized, the battery easily gives me a charge of about 3 hours"

Lastly.....

Method1

If you're able to get battery to charge again then I'd suggest you update the System Setup(BIOS). Keep in mind, battery should be charged to 10% or more to update BIOS.

Method 2

You can also Reset BIOS to the system defaults.

1. Power off system.

2. Power on system, quickly start tapping F2 key continuously. You should be in BIOS screen. Stroll down  and look for F9 key and then press it to load BIOS defaults. Once done, press F10 key to save and exit. System will restart. Hopefully battery is charging now.Try and wiggle adapter cable and check if that makes a difference.

Have the latest BIOS installed. Restored the BIOS defaults as well but it still won't work properly.
