hi,

i am having the same device too, i.e. inspiron 15 3521. Windows 8.1  64bit.

After the windows update the bluetooth stopped working and updating the drivers were not helpful. It gave the error : Activate Bluetooth using wireless switch. For a year or so, i forget that Bluetooth even existed in my device. The pathetic replies from Dell personnels here, in this forum, was not expected.

So so many people are facing this problem. I assume only 10% of whom posted in this forum. Dell has not taken this issue seriously.

Well, now that i found the SOLUTION. Bluetooth works like a charm now.

PROCESS:

1. check the bluetooth hardware version (1703 or 1704 or 1705) on your device. Two ways to check it:

a. Press 'ctrl+x'. From the menu displayed select 'Device Manager'. Click on 'Bluetooth'. The menu will drop-down. The bluetooth hardware name will now be displayed. For eg, 'Dell Wireless 1705 Bluetooth'. Now you know the bluetooth is '1705'.

b. Visit Dell Product Support website. Enter your 'Service Tag'. Select 'system configuration'. Select 'Components' drop-down. Search for bluetooth. Note down the bluetooth hardware version. (Note: press 'ctrl+f' you cannot locate anything on webpage.

2. Visit dell product support.

3. Enter 'servie tag' or select your laptop model.

4. Go to 'drivers and downloads'

5. Select 'Network' Drop-down.

6. What you need is 'wireless and bluetooth driver'. There are two drivers available for it. Since you know your Bluetooth Hardware Version (1703/ 1704/ 1705), select the selection. (Note: those who are having (bluetooth 1704 there are two drivers available, if one doesn't work try another. For that, click drop-down 'Other Versions Available', under the head 'Dell Wireless 1704 WiFi + Bluetooth Driver'

7. Download the appropriate driver.

8. Install it.

9. Make Peace.

Hello, I have a problem with bluetooth, since I have bought Dell inspiton 3521, three years ago. I updated driver several times, and all options that I have found on forum are checked, and they are ok. How can I resolve this problem, and connect laptop to cell phone.
