Booting from internal sd reader?

I have a Dell N5050,

In the bios boot options I cannot find an option for SD reader. Any ideas?

I am not familiar with your system but it should be similar to my laptop

1.If you want to boot from USB or SD reader hit F12 at power up.From the menu choose "USB Storage Device" that's the way it works on my inspiron 1545.

2.You only need to enter BIOS when you want to permanently change the boot order.

It's unlikely the system can boot from an SD card - some business-oriented models (Latitude) can - but consumer-grade models (Inspiron) generally cannot.

Download "Me and my Dell (HTML)" documentation

<ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>

1.After extracting the zipped file look for the file "index.htm"

2.double click index.htm

3.choose "BIOS"

4.Instead of "USB Storage Device" they use the term "USB Flash Device"

5.If your SD card still won't boot try creating a bootable USB stick and boot from an USB port

6.I assume that you know that any SDcard or USB stick must be specially prepared to be capable of booting,so I assume again that you want to use your SD card to - for instance - boot into Linux etc...
