C400 Latitude BIOS update

Hi

I am currently trying to solve an issue with my C400 running at only 291MHz.

I want to refresh the BIOS in case it was partially corrupted by a virus. It is already the latest version (A12) so the automatic Bios updater will not proceed.

How can I force an update to the BIOS A12 regardless?

Thanks

If the system will boot, the BIOS is not corrupt.  Be sure you haven't disabled SpeedStep in BIOS setup - if you have the CPU will run at low speed.

If you have not disabled SpeedStep you have a problem either with the CPU, or more likely, with the system board.

Thanks to your advice, it zips along nicely now.

The BIOS setting called 'Boot Speed' was set to Compatibility, instead of 1200MHz. I've no idea why its grouped with the Boot POST settings rather than the page for speedstep settings.

I was sure I had tried all the settings before, but evidently not!

Thanks again
