COM Port problems w/addition of Axim

​ I am having some problems with my Latitude Laptop (D600 running Windows 2000) and my Axim Pocket PC (A30) with regards to my COM port. I use my laptop for work with the Axim connected but also use it with some software (shareware) to monitor the computer in my car. Since I added my Axim software (was using a Palm) I get a COM Port error when trying to hook up the computer to my car. ​

​ I have found that if I boot the computer with the Axim hooked up and then exit the Pocket PC software, I am able to use the COM Port. It is real pain to bring my Axim docking station and cords home to boot the computer just to exit the Pocket PC software so I can use the COM Port in another application. Is there another way to get the COM Port to work in my car application without having to hook up the Axim before booting? ​
