COM Port

Does the Inspiron have a physical COM port (DB9)?  I'm considering buying one, but I need COM connectivity and don't see a port on the "tour" photos.

mine does but I use a 4100 which is not produced anymore!
you can also get a serial to usb cable adapter but some folk have had problems getting their serial devices to work properly using it.

I have the Same problem I think.  My modem is on COM 3,but I do not have any other COM ports!?!

I have an Inspirion 1100 which does not have a standard DB9 com port. I have tried using the USB to Srial adapter cable and it works in most instances. However if your software is looking for the "hard" (2F8 or 3F8) address of the com port to verify it exists your adapter will not work. I am looking at getting a PCMCIA com port card but so far have not found any compatable with my laptop.
