Cursor jumps around when typing
I have an Inspiron 15R SE 7520 and while typing, the cursor frequently jumps around and will begin typing in a previously typed line. This is extremely frustrating. I am running Windows 8 and have looked to find where I can adjust the sensitivity of my touchpad but can't find it anywhere. I've seen other posts for other computers that suggest uninstalling the touchpad driver and reinstalling it. I'm not sure what to do but I'm very frustrated with the way this is behaving. Does anyone know what I should do for my specific laptop to stop this from happening? Do I need to uninstall and reinstall the touchpad driver. If so, how do I do that for the Dell Inspiron 15R SE 7520 running Windows 8? I'm also keeping my hands off the touchpad while typing but the cursor still moves.

Hi cezannec,
I understand how inconvenient it will be with the erratic movement of the touch pad. I suggest that you update BIOS to the latest version and also the touchpad drivers.
Click on the link given below to flash the BIOS to the latest version and also update touch pad drivers:

Note: While flashing BIOS connect the Ac adapter and make sure the battery has minimum 15% charge as this needs uninterrupted power supply. Do not use the system till it restarts and comes up to the desktop.
Once the system comes up to the desktop update the touchpad driver from the link given below:

Check the touchpad sensitivity after the driver update and revert with the status.

Easiest solution is to install the free TouchFreeze utility. It shuts the pad off when you begin typing and turns it back on when you stop.
