D800 Video Problem: Slow Load On Some Web Pages

Hopefully some of you that have a similar problem can help me out.  I have a D800, with the Nvidia GeForce 4200 GO.  I have downloaded the latest drivers and installed them.  The problem I am going to describe has existed before and after the installation of the drivers.  My O/S is XP Pro, and I have installed all of the latest service packs and patches from Microsoft:

When viewing some pages, they load extremely slowly.  I believe the slow load pages are those that have extensive Java, but it is hard to tell.  Anybody know why this happens?

In all likelihood, the problem you're experiencing has nothing whatsoever to do with your display/display adapter, and is probably more related to the Java application you have installed (or the lack thereof).  Is the Sun JRE installed on there, or (less likely) the MS Virtual Machine?  If Sun, it should be listed both in the Programs listing and Control Panel.  You may also have an icon for same down by the clock in the System Tray.  If the MSVM, about the only way to tell is to open a Command Prompt and type jview , then press Enter.  If the MSVM is installed, you should see evidence of same at that point, including a version number.

If you find no evidence that either is installed, that would be a place to start.  You can obtain Sun's version by going here:

If the MSVM got installed (unlikely, since MS has discontinued allowing downloads, following a recent court settlement between MS and Sun, but stranger things have happened), you'll want to check Windows Update for updates (which are still available for systems on which the MSVM installed), and/or obtain version 3810 from some other source and reinstall same, which usually resolves any problems with an existing installation.  I've found that the MSVM is much easier to work with than Sun's application, but if Sun is what you have installed, you'll have to work with them for a fix, if in fact this is what's causing the slow loads.  It could very well also simply be a matter of poor coding at the sites with which you're experiencing problems.
