Dell 5404 2nd COM Port
Hi All,
I have a Dell 5404 Rugged laptop with the optional 2nd COM port (590-TEUK) installed, but I cannot see it listed in the device manager.
I've tried
Any suggestions on how to get this 2nd port up and running?
Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit

Did you ever get this working? I have the same problem with 2 rugged 5404s.

Hi Markatt,
After several drivers, BIOS updates and downgrades, the solution from Dell support Germany was to clone the HDD from a working one!
Hardly a good solution.
I've had a further 3 laptops of this type delivered, 1 of which had a faulty card for the 2nd COM port. All 3 I tried to get working using the drivers from Support, but in the end had to clone them all from a know working one.

Crikey, that's a bit of a cop out isnt it? I have tried absolutely allsorts over the last week or so and just havent been able to get them working.
Thanks ever so much for your reply though, if cloning is the only option then I'll have to try that.
