Dell E4300 display problem - vertical lines

I have a Dell E4300.

A few days ago 2 vertical lines appeared on my screen, now there are around 10, different colors and sizes.

When i press on the bottom of my display, where is the Dell logo, they dissapear.

I removed the display cover and, i think, the problem is the band in the middle, not the flex band connected to the motherboard.

Is there any way to fix this? Can the bottom of the display be changed? Is something like an inverter, but my screen is LED, so i belive that is a different mechanism. Is there any way to fix this without replacing the display?

I checked with an external monitor, it works fine.

Thanks in advance!

The LCD panel needs to be replaced to fix the problem.

My display is LED. LCD panel is the thing on the bottom of the screen, where the flex band that goes to the motherboard is connected?

I was to a service with it, they said that is not a problem with the lcd cable, but with the band that is fixed on the board attached to LCD, or with the board itself. From what i understand, that is the LCD panel, am i right?

Can that be replaced/reattached to the display?

It is worth trying a reseat of both ends of the cable (disconnect and reconnect) but from the sound of it, it's the panel itself that's faulty.

Hi Alexbohariuc,

Since the external monitor works fine, you may try to replace the LCD cable first, which is a relatively inexpensive part. You may refer the image below.

If issue persists, the LED screen might have to be replaced as suggested by ejn63. Here is the link for the service manual http://bit.ly/ZJ8M1T.

Please reply if you have any questions.

There is not a problem with the flex band that cames from the motherboard to display.

Vertical Lines is Cracked OR Water damage to the Display panel.  How it got that way is another issue.:emotion-9:
