Dell Inspiron 11 3147 2-in-1 Issues/Questions/Concerns

Does anyone's 3147 (N3530) get hot? I use it while sitting on my lap and though at first the heat didn't bother me, but now its seems bothersome. I upgraded the machine to Crucial Ballistix 8GB 204-Pin DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800), 1.35v Laptop Memory and a 250 EVO SSD. I check the temps with HWMonitor and the hottest I've seen anything get to is 67 degrees Celsius. Everything is normally in the high 50s.

Has anyone done a thermal re paste? I do have some IC Diamond laying around. Not sure if it would make a difference.

Video stream shuttering happens quite a bit. Any suggestions?

And does anyone else have issues with getting the bottom cover flush when putting back on (by the power button)? The corner seems to protrude a little.

Thank in advance! I tried to get all my questions in one post.

My laptop has had Windows 8.1 with firmware version A05. I spent long two sessions with Dell tech-support, upgraded to A07 and then sent my laptop to Dell depot repair for hardware testing.  Nothing found.  Problem still occurs.  Sometimes it takes a week or 2.  I. Was hoping it was a Windows 8.1 issue and upgrading to Win 10 would fix it.  Apparently not.  When I upgrade to Win 10 I'll do a clean install.

Just purchased my Inspiron 11 3000 with the Intel N3450 with windows 10 Home, my CPU usage is conctantly at 100% as well. After doing some research I found that there is a way to limit the amount of usage the processor can have on battery and plugged in.  Click your windows button on the keyboard or bottom left corner and search "Edit Power plan" there should be a "edit power plan" option", click that, then near the bottom of the window there is a "change advanced power plan settings" link, click that.  A window will open with a list of drop menu functions "Power saver, Hard disk, Internet Explorer..." scroll down to "processor power management" click the + symbol next to it to release options, select "maximum processor state". At this point all that's needed is to define how much usage in % you want to give the processor "on battery" and "plugged in".  Not quite sure why this PC is always running at 100%, I went into best buy where I purchased the PC and the model they had on display was also running its CPU at 100%.  Hopefully there are no issues down the road if the processor is being unnecessarily overworked... If you also check the other options mentioned earlier other than the processor management you may find things that do not need to be used in order to save battery power and processing load.

As I mentioned in my previous post, our Inspiron 11 3000 with the Intel N3450 came with Windows 8.1.  About every 2 weeks the CPU usage would go to 100%.  The only solution was to choose Change Plan Settings then Restore Default Settings For This Plan.  After 10 to 14 days the CPU usage would again be 100%.

We upgraded to Windows 10, an upgrade not a clean install.  The Inspiron 11 has been working fine for the past 3 weeks with the CPU usage remaining normal.  Also, the laptop has been noticeably more responsive with Windows 10.
