Dell Inspiron 4000 LCD compatability?

Doesn’t look too promising; that’s a Hitachi, and the 4000 used Samsungs. Even if the screen itself could work, it’s unlikely the inverter and cable would match up.

No, it will not work.  The Inspiron 4000 uses a 14 inch display, while the 8000 uses a 15 inch display.

Is the lcd from a Sony VAIO laptop compatible with the Dell Inspiron 4000?
In other words will the lcd from a Sony VAIO laptop work on an Inspiron 4000?

I bought a couple off eBay, LCD panels and some have an odd three prong inverter connector for the backlight or an actual inverter connected to the rear, rather then the bottom, you also need to match the LCD screw holes to the Inspiron or Latitude hinges and that caused an unknown issue for me. Branding is not a factor typically but they DO differ physically so look at some pictures off eBay I suggest. Use a C series Lat screen
