Dell Inspiron 5547 Black Border around screen
Hello,
I am having issues with my Dell 5547 laptop. There is a roughly 1cm border all around the screen which wasn't there before and I noticed it now as my taskbar is adjusted 1cm up but when I put google chrome in full screen it sort of chops the top bar down a bit.
I noticed through google searches other people have had similar issues with Dell laptops however I can't seem to find a solution because every time I try to turn off the "maintain display scaling" it won't let me turn it off.

Where the dell guy has gone now? why he was giving random solutions? when he was knowing that this is an inherent issue with this product....i also own the same machine and having the same black border. Its not a design feature, as the pictures available on net fort this product do not show screens with black border...
Dell, please resolve the issue or admit that its by design and you people have misguided us by giving edited pics of this machine on internet... A bad way of selling products

Hi Prabhat,
Were you able to get this solved after trying Dell support?
I too have the same problem and they have asked me to ship the laptop to them for repair, not sure if they will replace it with the same type of laptop having the same issue.

Hi,
I have a Dell Inspiron 17 7000 series and it has black borders they are suppose to be there that is how they are made .If you measure from the inside corner on the bottom left and go to the inside corner top right it will give you your correct measurement of your screen mine measures 17.3 if you notice on the top black border you will see (if you have a camera) two mikes and the camera lens. the touch display is made corning gorilla glass NBT

I just bought a 5548 and had the same problem. After three hours back and forth with customer service they identified that there are 5 models that have this "design feature". 5547, 5548, 7548, 3543, and 5447. All other models should be fine. Not sure why the support team didn't know this to begin with since it "isn't an issue, but a design feature". Could have saved me lots of time.

HI Prabhat, I have the same issue and trying to get a refund. Could you let me know which department in dell helped you or how you got it? Tech support and customer support are saying this is as predesign and they cant arrange a refund.

I too purchased 5547 ,even I had black borders around the screen and I checked with my friend who has purchased another 5000 series laptop who has same black bezal around the screen.Laptop was designed that way I guess
