Dell Latitude E5440 Fingerprint issue with Windows 10

I can't use the fingerprint with Dell Data Protection | Security Tools after I upgrade to Windows 10. With Windows 8.1 driver but Windows Hello works fine. But Windows 10 always tried to upgrade the driver which the new version makes my fingerprint won't work anywhere.

Please fix this issue ASAP

Hi @Mhd30 and @assinfo ,

The drivers are yet to be released for the windows 10 for the fingerprint reader to work .

Hence as an alternative you can try these steps and advise the result ,

*Uninstall the existing Fingerprint drivers from Control Panel and any relevant applications.Browse to Device Manager and Uninstall the existing drivers for Fingerprint(Select the Option Delete Drivers), then SCAN for Hardware changes. Uninstall the drivers again if the drivers get installed.Restart the system and check using Windows Hello.

or

*

Install the Windows 8.1 Drivers on Windows 10 in Compatibility Mode.

Refer: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows-8/older-programs-compatible-version-windows

Uninstall the existing Fingerprint drivers from the system.Restart and install the below drivers for respective systems in Windows 10 Compatibility Mode(if the option is available).

I hope this helps .If there are any more questions do write to us .

Kind Regards ,

I already reply you with this messages :

There is no message for any error. When I install this one and going to enroll the fingerprint. There are no response when I swipe the finger. and also the DDPST disable the Windows Hello system so I can't login to system either.

I'm using the fingerprint driver that use with Windows 8.1 the driver for Windows 10 won't release yet

Thanks

Please fix the fingerprint driver in Win10 because dosen't working.

Everyone the same problem!

August 10th, 2015 08:00

Same problem for me:

Precision m6800 upgraded from Windows 8.1 x64 to Windows 10.

Fingerprint reader doesn't work anymore. I did uninstall DDP/ST and reinstall the latest version without any error message, but still doesn't work. Fingerprint reader appears to be detected and still uses previou driver (Broadcom controlvault w / fingerprint reader), but fingerprint reader doesn't work under Win10.
