Dell XPS 12 Touch screen stop working when flipping screen

Hi,

So I bought the XPS 12 a month ago, and it is fantastic! However, I have been experiencing a problem:

When I flip the screen to go into tablet mode, after a short while, the touch stops working. The screen still shows what it's supposed to, but it won't register my fingers (or anyone elses...)

I have seen another post about a similar problem at the forum (http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/p/19477009/20235618.aspx), but the solutions given (update BIOS, update chipset and video drivers, calibrating the touch screen) didn't solve my problem.

Are there any other solutions available, or is this a problem only I am experiencing?

Sincerely,

Ben

Not sure if this is a fix, but I noticed on some of ours that a 3rd party Windows 8 start menu app was causing it. One of those apps that adds a real start button to the desktop. Removed it and things started working.

1. re install the Atmel touchscreen control

2.re-install the latest touch pad driver and Disable it when you use the touch screen. (you will find it in Dell's other product driver download website (not for xps 12 but in fact compatible), and you choose the latest version)

3. go to the advance power setting in windows power management, there is an USB setting, disable pausing
When you have done these process, make sure you close the touch pad before you use the touch screen. This is because when you transform your computer to a pad, the back of the screen will 'touch' the touch pad. This is a flaw because the material of the back of the screen can touch the touch pad like people 's hand! So the system will receive two input and result in an conflict. This process works for me , hope it works for you as well.
cheers

Same exact problem as you. Did you ever get it resolved?

People have made a lot of suggestions since this thread was started about 1-1/2 years ago, but I don't think anyone's discovered a permanent, once-and-for-all fix to this issue. Unfortunately.

I will repeat a former post that I did a restore at one of my last restore points and the problem was fixed. I haven't had a problem with the touch screen since then. (January).

I have not had any problems with the touch screen since I installed the latest drivers some months ago.

I just went to the Device Manager to uninstall all HID-* drivers and all sensor drivers then clicked on the Scan new hardware changes and let Windows installed them automatically.

After that, my laptop (9Q33) is working fine now.

P/S: I have updated all the latest drivers from DELL before doing this.

I think you should try this :)
