Dell XPS 13 9350 - Will it ever be able to use a eGPU using Thunderbolt 3?
I've recently been looking into buying an eGPU Enclosure such as the AKiTiO Node or the Razer Core. I've updated all the firmware and now I am running Thunderbolt Software Version 16.1.47.275. The Node and Core both specify that the computer needs to both have Thunderbolt 3 (which I have) and be compatible with external graphics. What does this mean? I have Thunderbolt 3, so wouldn't it be theoretically possible to run external graphics provided the firmware was up to date?
So in summary, my main question is this: Will/can the Dell XPS 13 9350 be able to use eGPU enclosures over Thunderbolt 3 now (or in the future if there is firmware updates being planned)?

Sorry, not an answer to your question but many more like me are very interested in this subject so I do hope you will get a reply from Dell.

As things stand no, no - the system does not support an external GPU.
While no one can predict the future, several things weigh against future support:
1. This system is a Macbook/Air competitor -- those systems have no Apple support for eGPUs.
2. Dell already offers eGPU options for Alienware systems.
3. The take rate for eGPUs will be low, making development costs hard to justify.

I am also very interested in this. I want the Akitio Node to work with Dell XPS 13 9350. Apparently intel thunderbolt 3 version 18 or higher is needed. Release the Thunderbolt 3 update driver!
