Disabling HyperThreading on Inspiron 5150
Hi,
I have a new 5150 and I need to disable the HyperThreading in the BIOS. When I boot I hit F2 and get into set up but I can't find HyperThreading on any of the screens. Is it called something else or am I in the wrong place? Is HyperThreading even accessible on the 5150?

Check the Task Manager (Ctrl-Shift-Esc) and in the performance tab you should see two graphs for the history of the cpu - if you have an HT processor.
Check you have the latest BIOS but also check the downloads page for a new driver for the P4 in winXP.

So any Inspiron 5150 with a 3.06GHz CPU, BIOS A26 & the Microsoft P4 driver download from Dell should have the HyperThreading feature available?

No idea...it was a system from the Dell Factory Outlet ordered on October 5th 2003;
johnallg, good to see that you're still active on the forums-I'm back after a long absence, & remember you from the old Inspiron 4000/8000 days...
Once I recieve the system (tomorrow), any definitive way to determine whether the CPU is the HT one? BIOS/Win XP/SiSoft Sandra Diagnostics?
The order code for this system is Item # W0986, CPU is part # G1278, Processor 80532 if that helps.
