Docking station e port plus II with 2 monitors and laptop screen

Dear Dell,

I have the docking station Dell e port plus II. I ordered part #430-3114 (E-Port Replicator-Advanced) through my company approved hardware list (Dell hardware). The docking station I received is model # PRO2X, which I assume is the correct one. When I type the part # 430-3114 into the Dell website, however, it provides information for part #331-6304, which looks exactly like the docking station I have

The E-Port Plus Port Replicator with USB 3.0 from Dell™ offers dual digital monitor capabilities along with legacy ports. This docking station includes a latest USB 3.0 technology enabled by Intel in Ivy Bridge. It has replaced the 2 USB 2.0 connectors with the USB 3.0. Plus, the Display Port 1.2 adds the ability to daisy chain displays (4 displays via 1 connector). Also it offers an adaptor complexity reduction. It has non-compromise station designed for enhanced usability at desk. This product has been tested and validated on Dell systems. It is supported by Dell Technical Support when used with a Dell system.

My current system setup is a Dell E6430 laptop connected to the PRO2X docking station with two external monitors connected via DVI.

My question is this: what do I need to do to enable the “4 displays via 1 connector” as the website says I should be able to do? That is the setup I would actually like to have. A secondary question is the one we have been working on so far, that is, how do I make it so I can have an extended desktop that includes both external monitors as well as the laptop display?

Could you please advise me on what I need to do to make this work? Do I need to order a different docking station or special Display Port 1.2 cables?

Many thanks,

I have the same setup and know that the included video card show to support up to 6 displays, but windows says cannot save display every time I try to setup.

Dell Support,

Please help.

The daisy chain requires the monitor to provide the 'in' and 'out' ports, so the hardware to daisy chain is in the monitors.

the port replicator just provides the technology
