Dying "L" key

The "L" key on my Inspiron 3500 is starting to die. Is there a way to clean the keys on the keyboard? Like prying the key off and swabbing down the underside. I'm hesitant to do this because it's not the same as a regular desktop keyboard...Thanks!

You can remove the key cover to clean under it but putting it back on may take some patience.  I suspect though that the key is just wearing out.  Have you thought about buying a keyboard.  I might suggest buying a notebook that someone is selling for parts.

Here is one on ebay that is being sold for parts.

Here are some keyboards for auction on ebay.  Most of them say "NEW" and the cheapest buy it now price of $23.99 USD.

Excellent!!!  That is definately quicker and cheaper than buying a keyboard.

Thanks...I shut down my machine and pried the "L" key off. There was a ball of dust underneath it, so I blew it out. You were right in that putting the key back on takes patience. I figured it out and the whole operation took about 30 minutes. My "L" works 100% of the time now!
