Hard Disk ... Nedd Help.....Error Code 2000-0146

Hi All,

I am unable start my lap either normally or safe mode.

I also try to format with bootable cd ,it's simplley redirect to strart windows normally or with recommended setting. I  try  with both option one by one bt get silent

after display win7 logo.

when i diagnosis from boot option i got Error code 2000-0146.

I didn't understand what exactly going on inside laptop.

Please  assist me.

Your hard drive has failed - you will need to replace it with a new one.

Hi Pankaj,
 

Error code: 2000-0146 (DST Log contains previous errors) refers to previous errors in the hard drive which might not really be a hardware failure. Please try the following steps:

-- Reset the BIOS to the defaults for these error codes. For more information on resetting the BIOS to the defaults, refer to the Resetting the System Setup (BIOS) to its Default Settings section. 
-- After resetting the BIOS to the defaults, re-run the diagnostics if you receive the same error code the hard drive needs to be replaced. 

**Note: If the computer is able to boot into Windows you should back up your important information and files, for information on how to do this, refer to Dell Knowledge Base article Backing up and Restoring Important Files and Data.

See above.  You need a new hard drive.  Once that's installed, THEN reload Windows.

Thanks for your reply.
 

I have follow your instruction. Reset BIOS as default and  once again start diagnostics test , i got the same error code and msg.
 

I srart my laptop with recommended detting mode after 5 min i saw win 7 default screen get appear infront on me on my laptop screen then after 2 min i got 
 

one option System Recover i click on next , then after 4 min i got next instruction Recover the system configuration as create image earliear, at that window
 

there is twooption one is load driver and next... i click on next.
 

I got  again a window with msg.... Insert the installation media for the device and click OK toselect driver.
 

 

I dont know what to do in this situation..................Please help.
