HD failure (error code 2000-0141)

Service Tag : <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>

Description:

After installing a fan cooler device into one usb port ( no sure if this caused problem ?)

 On (black) Screen message "Invalid or damaged Bootable partition"

Actions taken:

Following Dell Support advice I 

1.- ran the diagnostic tool and got error code 2000-0141

2.- removed and replaced the HD from computer

3.- repeat step 1 above without success 9 (same error code)

Important note: I lost the original factory installed  Windows XP OS and installed window 7 instead

Help is greatly appreciated.
