HDD FAILED IN TARGETED READ TEST AND LINEAR READ TEST
I put my Dell Vostro 1015 Laptop under online diagnostic tests which showed the following errors of the Hard Disk and advised replacement. It is running well till now. Is there any tools which can repair my HDD and I can avoid replacement of the HDD?
TEST RESULT :
Targeted Read Test
"Your hard drive may be experiencing a hardware fault or may have a configuration issue.If the system is still under warranty and you are unable to resolve the issue, please contact Dell Technical Support for additional assistance."
Linear Read Test
"Your hard drive is operating outside of normal parameters and should be replaced. If the system is still under warranty please contact Dell Technical Support for additional assistance."

Welcome to the community.
Please let us know if you have run the Dell diagnostics for the same. If not please check the link below for running the diagnostics on the system:

Kindly let us know the results with the error code and error message for the same.
If harddrive has failed the test it won't be possible to repair the same. However, you can still try and run chkdsk/r(For Windows XP only) which can repair any software errors on the system.
Steps for Running chkdsk/r
1. Insert the Windows® XP CD into the CD or DVD drive.
2. Restart the computer.
3. While the computer is starting up, repeatedly press F12 on Dell Logo to access the one-time boot menu.
4. When the one-time boot menu appears, press the to highlight the CD-ROM option that appears, which is one of the following options: Onboard CD-ROM Drive or Onboard USB CD-ROM Drive.
5. Press .
6. When the computer boots to the CD-ROM drive, press to enter the Recovery Console.
7. If it gives you the option to enter windows installation number.Press 1 and hit enter and then type C: and hit enter.*(If you directly get C:> then ignore this steps and move to step 8)
8. Type CHKDSK /R, and then press the key.
After this it will start the repair process and it will take 45 mins to 1 hour to get completed once it done just restart the system to check if the issue has been resolved or not. As this step will repair any windows corruption we have on the system.
