I'm currently using my laptop for 2 months and today when I shut down my Dell Inspiron 15 a while ago and open it again after an hour I continuously get this error

  • :(
  • Your PC ran into Problem and it needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you.
  • If you'd like to know more you can search online later for this error. 0xc000021a

After it automatically restart it says

  • RECOVERY
  • Your PC couldn't start properly
  • After multiple tries, the operating system on your pc failed to start, so it needs to be repaired
  • Error code: 0xc0000001
  • You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have an installation media (like a disc or USB devices), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer.

Sir DELL-Appu S I'm still suffering from that BSOD especially when rebooting my laptop

I also experience that it slows down a bit and it freezes more often

and on the start up screen when pressing the Windows Key the start menu won't show up immediately you'll have to wait for a few seconds and it automatically shows the right click option wherever the cursor is

If I click the start up menu using left click the the right click option will pop right below the start menu

Hi delacroix,

Please try running the Dell Diagnostics again to check the hardware functionality. Power off the computer -> restart the computer, press 'F12' key on the Dell logo -> Select ‘Diagnostics’ from the boot menu.

Incase you are unable to run the Diagnostics using the above steps, use the following method and see if you are able initiate it. Press and hold FN key, simultaneously press the Power button. If the Diagnostics is initiated, let it complete.

Please share the findings.

Hi DELL-Appu S,

I run the Diagnostics and it's completely fine everything passed the test

I did it to the Quick test and Thorough test mode

Hi delacroix,

This seems to be a software issue. Since the steps that we tried did not produce positive results, I would suggest you to perform PC Restore following the steps mentioned in one of my previous posts.

Note: This step leads to complete data loss including pictures, music files, videos, documents and applications. Please disconnect any external peripherals as well.

Please share the findings.

Hi DELL-Appu S,

sorry for not showing up for a while

I get frequent notifications from Microsoft right after turning on, after I encounter that BSOD

It says Your PC ran into a problem, then it always shows 3 files that are going to send to Microsoft and a lot of details

and

ahmm I notice something a day ago

that the FILES that are going to be sent to Microsoft are different somehow

here's some screenshots but it's just 3 coz I notice it too late already

and I also remember that my laptop suddenly go into "backup and recovery mode" a day before I encounter this problem

but I don't have any DISC or USB plug in to my laptop that time

do you think that's the problem???

Thank You so much!!!

Hi delacroix,

Thank you for the response. As mentioned earlier, this issues seems to be a caused by some software conflicts. Since the steps that we tried did not help, I would suggest you to perform PC Restore following the steps mentioned in one of my previous posts.

Note: This step leads to complete data loss including pictures, music files, videos, documents and applications. Please disconnect any external peripherals as well.

I also had the same problem with my inspiron 3520 and it is only a week old. There was an icon on the right lower corner that said it needed to do an update so I clicked to do so. After the update I had nothing. I get the same message as you. I have run the diagnostic check and it all checks out fine. I can't seem to get into the recovery stage. I was happy with the Dell but after a week now Im not sure. Can anyone help.

Thanks

It is a blue screen, and it has nothing to do with Dell, it has everything to do with MS.  The dump files are always going to be different, because when the OS "dumps" the memory into files, it is "giving" them different names so as not to overwrite the old ones.  There is a program from NirSoft called "BlueScreenView" that will help you find out what it is if you can get to the operating system.

Ughh I am just now having this same exact problem.  I tried everything and have finally been able to reaccess the recovery screen again.  I am in the process of waiting for the above procedure mentioned.  I hope it works as my computer is only 6 months old and I have had been pretty happy with it. Except that it will occasionally disconnect from our server or any server and I have to shutdown everything, restart, wait 5 minutes and then it will recover internet connectivity.  I was initially really unhappy about this consistent problem with a new computer but haven't had any other problems until today!  The exact thing happened as above person mentioned.  I received the error message 0xc000021a.   the computer showed me a screen saying had to install then a frown with system not successful.  I tried again and again to restore the computer to a specific date with a message appearing stating corrupt files detected to run scan on c drive. I would run scan and no problem was found and then again restore again same message and system check.  Eventually it would not turn on at all past the blue screen.  Finally found this thread and have been successful so far (it is still running.) I did not want to lose everything or to have to back everything up and reinstall but I was left with no option.  It is now 23% of the way into restoring system so I am hopeful that this works!

PLEASE HELP!  After restoring to Manufacturer point, I began noticing that my screen would be completly ble with a small box with the request to reactivate window??  At first I was able to bypass this by pressing the wondows key and go to my homepage with all applications functioning fine (i.e. google chrome, internet explore, skype, documents, music).  I spoke with a dell tech for nearly 10 hours in two days along with a Windows specialist from Microsoft.  They said the only way to actually correct the problem is to reinstall Window 8 with the hard CD.  I asked specifically if I kept using the computer until I received the disk (it should be here no later than Monday.)  The answer was a very affirmative ¨"No".  No harm could come by using the computer until the reinstallation.

For the past two days I began to get error messages and problems with programs "having problems" and closing unexpectedly.  Such as Internet Explorer, memory drive, c drive, McAfee has stopped working etc.  Then boom NO ABILITY FOR INTERNET CONNECTIVTY-

Today, nothing is working and I am unable to reach the manufactor restore screen...Please Please if anyone is reading this and knows how to get to the manufactor screen I desperately need your help. Thanks in advance and I hope this reaches someone out there that has a answer....Dell Reps your help would also be appreciated.

Also, apologies for grammatical  and spelling errors. I am using a computer keyboard based in a different language.  It has an entirely different key arrangement.
