Inspiron 15 7537 keyboard not functioning correctly
So out of the blue (for the second time now) my keyboard has stopped working properly, it is almost is the keys have been muddled up, e.g
pressing "r" outputs a "4"
the return key outputs a "z"
the "j" key emulates the return key
the search function key (f5) does nothing at all......
I dont know why this is happening, the first time this happened to me i tried formatting my pc, nothing, then suddenly it started working again, dell could not provide me with a solution and offered to replace my keyboard but i do not think this is a hardware issue
EDIT: After re-installing many drivers I found that updating my bios through the dell drivers site seems to have resolved the issue, but the fact that this has now occurred twice is a joke...

I bought an Inspiron 7537 a little over two months ago and last night the keyboard stopped working. Luckily I had gotten a usb keyboard last week because I detest the one installed on the laptop. However, I paid what amounts to the price of a used car for this laptop and expect all of its components to work!
Funny thing is, just a couple of days ago I updated my bios and now wonder if that screwed with the keyboard. It is dead -- not malfunctioning, and same with the touchpad.
Very annoyed, since I am a teacher and do a lot of prep work at home on weekends and evenings.
