Inspiron 15R 5521 - 2 external monitors?

Can this laptop support 2 external monitors?

When at the office I like to have more screen space than the laptop provides, only one hdmi output so I'm guessing the answer is only one, but hoping that I am just missing something and we can.

Hi bj_Crystal,

Connecting 2 monitors may not be possible. However, you can use a splitter to connect 2 monitors.

What is the part number, price?

How is this different than what I asked?

Hi bj_Crystal,

As 2 monitors cannot be connected on this system, so a splitter will give the capability to connect 2 monitors. Now, that depends on the ports the monitors have. You can use HDMI to VGA, HDMI to DVI or HDMI to HDMI.

For pricing and part no's, you may refer the following link http://dell.to/1dnhDCY. You can also purchase this part from a local store.

Will it give me two monitors that have the same screen, or will it extend my display over two screens.  Since the goal is to have more screen space having two monitors with the same display (duping a screen) doesn't cover what I need.

Hi bj_Crystal,

Unfortunately, a splitter will not provide you the ability to extend the display. It will only work on clone mode.
