Inspiron 4400:011A Error
I can't start up my Inspiron Mini 10V, I'm getting a 4400: 011A error code. Message: SCSI_0 000_DISK_GENERIC_MULTI_CARD-target not ready. It won't start up in safe made or last known good configuration. I bought it in December 2009 and a new hard drive was put in under warranty in June 2010. I suspect this error code means a hrd drive problem? How can I confirm this or tell if it could be an OS issue? As my 12 month warranty has expired but the hard drive was put in in June 10 will there be any sort of warranty cover for the HD?

That error has to do with memory card reader, I imagine. Is there perhaps a duff SD card in the reader. Or is the system trying to boot from the reader slot.
Remove any flash memory cards and any usb devices. Power on the system and enter the bios setup. Load default values and then save and exit. Does that allow you to boot from the hard drive. Even with errors.
Bit unlucky to have two hard drives fail in such a short time. Maybe the hard drive is loose on it's connector. Need to remove the keyboard, I think, to check that.
