Inspiron 640m internet connection fails (1394 Net Adapter)

The 1394 Net Adapter is not your network adapter.  It is your firewire port and it is not normally used in networking.  You need to install the drivers for your ethernet network adapter -

Thanks Steve for the prompt answer.

I had figured out that the problem was the driver update, so I had searched for the updates by service tag and by the model.
By the way these two searches returned different results.
How on earth is it possible, since in both cases the title of the page suggested that it was for exactly the same Inspiron model...).
And none of the drivers I had installed was the one you so kindly pointed out!!!

Anyways things looks much better now, though I still can't connect to the Internet.

Pingin looks nice. But the following error message appears "Limited or no connectivity"

Does it have something to do with connection speed I have?
I tested several sites (http://www.speedtest.net/) and the download speed was around 500 kb/s.

If this is the reason, what can be done?
