Inspiron making buzzing noise
Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 7000 laptop. When i plug it in, i can hear a low buzzing noise coming from the Ac board. I have a 14gb hard drive on my laptop thats a little more noisy than usual so i was wondering if that had anything to do with it? Is the board bad or is it supposed to do that? I mean it does still work but it just makes a low pitch buzzing noise. I'm afraid it might die on me. Thanks in advance for ur help.
Oh one more thing, the sound keeps cutting off on me when i'm trying to use yahoo. This only hapens in yahoo chat. I have windows 2000 on my laptop and according to yahoo, they say i need to upgrade my audio drivers to fix this problem. Any place you know of where i can go to do this? I don't know anything about my sound card.

My new 8600 had this problem too, like many of DELL laptops. Fortunately I found a suggestion by an end-user (not a DELL support tech!) that solved the problem. The solution that involves disabling window's power management for USB devices can be found at:

Hope this helps you.:smileytongue:
