issues with my recent purchase of Dell Inspiron 15 3000 - 3543
re: Inspiron 15 3000 Series, Windows 7 Professional English 64bit (includes Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit License and Media)
Had it for a few days, main issues:
1. really bad wireless connections (compare to my concern #2 this is still bearable)
2. when I am away from my laptop for maybe 20 mins or longer, it would freeze and no matter what you do, it would not respond. I had to shut it off by long pressing the power button. My laptop battery setting is screen never off on battery. (not power saver so it should not go to sleep, even it went to sleep..it should wake up at some point doesn't it!! =0=).
Called dell tech support, they asked me to run a test and found out hardware were all ok.
Do you think i should return this? If so, please recommend another model. I need it for basic daily usage, I need to purchase from dell website as I have a $250 e-gift card. so any price as close to $250 would be great.
Thank you !!!

Hi Terry:
I have a Inspiron 15 3000 running W-8, disabled SpeedStep which slightly sped things up but not much. I run a Logitech wireless keyboard and Trend Micro but otherwise it's a factory loaded/configured machine. Any thoughts or is this just a slow machine? Thanks for reading and in advance for any assistance.

hi
goto to advance power options under balanced power mode and change power button action from "sleep to shutdown" for both on battery and on power modes.
This will help.

hi guys i think i found a fix
update your realtec sound drivers
since updating my soundcard my lappy hasent lagged yet
loaded much faster and feels over all faster
pitty my video card is still bad
the 2gig Nvidia dedicated card . why dosent dell just do like Acer and use a better video card and ignore Intels card
EDIT- well all was well thoughout the day now all the sudden the lag is back.
i wonder if its the hard drive or is my processor faulty. have run every single test and thing known too man.
i have tried every trick in the book am basically pulling what little hair i have left out.
what can we DOOOO DELL

I had similar issue with my Laptop (3543). I tried every possible way to trouble shoot the issue. Finally found the solution, the fix is to update the BIOS driver to the latest version. I am running windows 10 Home version and after updating the BIOS driver I did not experience any freezing or slow performance issue. There is no need of disabling SpeedStep or anything.
Kindly test and share your experience.
EDIT: The system performed well for a day and half, and the sudden freeze problem is back again.
Dell please suggest solution!!!

I have had this laptop for 24 hours and been on in less than an hour and it continually freezes. I have disabled speedstep and still the same problem. If anything it has froze faster than before.

ive done a clean install of windows 10
installed all the drivers off the dell website and the new bios and still having issues
im going to buy a faster hdd soon because im wondering if its hdd related or if its the RAM or the intel chip itself
OR even the Nvidia card
when i run tests with the Nvidia all i can get is 11FPS
yet with the intel card i get a boat load more FPS cannot remember off top of my head right now but the Nvidia card is annoying
no matter what test i run i only get 11 to 13FPS
anyone else have issues with FPS on nvidia 2gig video cards?>

Hi,
Do you have same FPS results when machine is on charger and without it?
Because I've experienced that when machine runs on battery GPU core frequency is about 2 times less compared to values when it's on charger.
Which gives half FPS values as well.

i wish dell would get to the bottom of this issue
once and for all
why do we all have these issues???????????

I have the same weak WiFi issue with my Dell Inspiron 3543. I only had the laptop for 3 weeks now and the Wifi is very weak. It is 5 meters away from my router and has one bar signal. My pc in the same room but about 8 meters from the same router has full bar signal.
I already updated all the drivers for win 10 just now including the bios drivers and the wifi is still pathetic.

Hi Terry
I bought my Dell Inspiron N3543 laptop on Tuesday.
It already had Windows 10 installed.
I am experiencing very slow and lagged performance (I think my old Dell Inspiron N5050 with an i3 might be faster).
I am also experiencing terrible wifi connectivity (won't hold the signal for more than a few minutes at a time and I sit about 8 feet from the wifi router) and flat poor quality audio output.
Disabling SpeedStep has made a difference to the performance though its still not as fast as I'd expect an i7 to be.
Wifi issue and audio output issues still exist.

i think dell knows there are issues. they just to cheap to do anything about it
terry left yonks ago by my guestimate
anyways im gonna buy an ssd and try that
ive been sent ram and a hdd and nothing changed my issues
plus they harassed me for days to get their stuff back
a multinational multimillion dollar company harassing me over 150 bucks worth of parts
that i only had for one day
it was clearly stated that i could have the parts ten working days and on the first day i was harassed for the parts that i replaced back. shows how good dell is
cant even understand the help desk
