Keys not working on built in keyboard on my Inspiron 11

My name is Kristina, and I've been having a lot of issues with my built in keyboard.  A lot of the keys stop working at random times.  I have tried to reset my computer but it doesn't help.  I end up having to use the touch keyboard, and I don't like to.  This is also the 2nd computer I have gotten from dell, the first one had the same issue so bad we couldn't even finish the initial setup.  This is getting very frustrating, and I'm about to send it back, I just don't want to.  Please help.

After I shelved this computer for a couple of years, I bought a small Bluetooth keyboard for use with my Samsung tablet and found it works with this computer.  Much more convenient than the touch screen keyboard and the left hand keys work (as do all of them on the BT keyboard!).  I shouldn't have to have a separate keyboard to use this laptop, but at least I am now getting some use out of it.  I still don't trust it  like I do my new HP, but I have loaded it with my recipes and keep it in the kitchen.

Did you ever install a new keyboard? I have been having this problem as well. I am shopping for a mac right now but hate throwing this one away. I was hoping to fix it and give it to my daughter.  PS. I also have a battery issue.  All of a sudden it won't charge because it can't be recognized. No idea what that means.

None of these suggestions work. Dell sold us a lemon. I'm getting a mac. They are reliable and fix problems caused by them.  Call dell support and they are not even here in the US. The language barrier is frustrating. I wish I would have known about this before dumping all that money in the garbage. Plus I had publisher installed on it. What a waste. I will never buy anything from Dell again.
