Latitude CPx battery indicator light question
Latitude CPx H500
1691P battery Rev . 02
Battery wont power laptop, and no status light will work on the battery itself.
Insert battery into laptop, laptop charging indicator light, turns solid green for about 15secs, then off.
It will slowly blink green thereafter. No orange.
Both BIOS will will show charging and progress, so will Windows 2000.
But the batttery will never work.
Have left battery in for 24hours plus, with the slowly blinking green, and nothing.
What does the green mean, with no error orange?

Hi,
It is most likely a bad battery, how old is it ? Often a bad battery will seem OK, and that it is charging but never does. See if you can borrow another to try. If you replace it witha 66watt [ grey top ] you may need to update the Bios to make it run properly. Do this from the floppy, NOT from Windows.

OK Dead battery
Someone explain the symtoms - BIOS shows charging , Win2000 will show charging , battery light on laptop will flash green slowly.
Is there a way to recondition it back into working?
