Need help figuring out why this thing is so slow. Passes all diagnostics test but response is much slower than computers with half the specs. Has all updates and has ran many hours but still painfully slow.

This thing is so bad it takes over 10 minutes to boot up with basically no programs installed.

Its so slow you would swear its installing the operating system for the first time every time I reboot it.

Is there a test for that? It seems to pass all the test I have thrown at it.

Hard drive could be about to die. A high frequency of read retries is a common early warning of impending drive failure and manifests as horrible performance.

Sometimes you’ll get lucky and have diagnostics report a predicted failure, but not always. You can try a benchmark tool like CrystalDiskMark though. See what numbers you get on Sequential read and write, which is the first row of results. A spinning hard drive should manage 70-120 MB/s on both. The Random read and write will be horrible, but that’s normal on a spinning disk.
