latitude power button stuck sometimes

i recently bought a 2nd hand dell latitude ls400 laptop... and had to open it all up because I spilt juice on it :(

after i cleaned it all up and assembeled back, everything seems to be working ok except the power button sometimes doesnt work ... i figured the problem may be with the contactors on the actual button on the motherboard or with the power button on the keyboard bezel.

The button works ok sometimes but other times I have to keep trying and fiddeling with it for a few minutes.. a few times I even had to open the keyboard bezel to operate the button because the laptop simply refuses to start

Is there any way I can solve this problem

I am having the same problem but have never spilled anything on my computer.  I only have the problem when the laptop is out of the docking station.  Tech support has not come up with anything.  Have you received any suggestions for a solution?

hi

somehow the problem got solved by itself.. (after I opened up my laptop and played around with the power button a bit more :D)

This will teach me not to spill anything on my laptop ever again :)
