M1730 Keyboard light doesn't work

As I understand there should be a backlit keyboard feature on M1730. Mine however doesn't seem to work. That is when I press Fn + right there is an icon appearing in the right bottom corner of the display notifying me that keyboard is supposed to be lit. Nothing happens with my keyboard though. I have tried doing that during the night with no lights on just make sure. Does anyone know if there maybe some brightness adjuster for the keyboard light that maybe turned off or something... or could dell engineers just forget about installing the LEDs under the keyboard during laptop's assembly?

The reason was that Dell forgot to connect that cable during the assembly. Well at least they replaced it with a brand new keyboard.
