Monitor not listed in Device manager
Inspiron 15R, Windows 8 64 bit. Intel HD Graphics 4000.
There is no monitor listed in Device Manger. Only the display adapters is listed there.
If I uninstall the graphics driver, I can get the monitor listed in device manager. It's listed as Generic non-PnP monitor.
However, when I restart the PC, the Intel driver automatically reinstalls and the monitor is once again gone from Device Manager.

You will require to download the drivers for your monitor, your video card (or onboard video) and your sound card or onboard. To do this you require the correct make and model of your hardware then try to discover the companies websites who make the goods and browse their support sections for drivers.

I already tried downloading and installing the driver directly from Intel. Doesn't help at all.
