Overheating laptop.
I've had my laptop for around a year now, and every now and again (at least once every day) my laptop just shuts off. No warnings, just goes blank. I lose everything. I am guessing this is due to the fact my laptop is very hot, the battery isn't hot but everything else on the base is. I can't speak to live support as they don't have any in the United Kingdom (what the ..?) I was just wondering if there were any solutions to this problem? :emotion-1:

You do not mention which notebook that you have - Some of Dell's computers are notorious for over heating due to a bad design.
With the computer off, turn using a can of compressed air and blow out the dust from the heat sink if you can. Do not spin the fan with the compressed air and at the same time insert the anything into the fan. It will break off the fan blade.
You might even have to open the notebook up and clean out the dust. Depending on your model, you may be suprised how much dust will get into a system.
My wife's computer was running the fan a lot. I took out the fan and cleaned it off and also the radiator. The fan now runs quite a bit less.
